We hope everyone is safe after Winter Storm Quinn blew through last night, dropping anywhere from 6-18" of heavy wet snow across our area! We've all seen the damage of wind and snow over the last few weeks, but don't forget that landscape plants can be severely damaged as well! As with larger trees, branches of smaller ornamental trees and shrubs can get severely weighed down, causing splits and breaks. These pictures are from the home of one of our designers, showing young 15' woodland trees and 8-9' Rose of Sharon, Lindera, and Viburnum bent down to 3' or less, or completely laid out flat on the ground! If you have a chance to brush the snow off affected plants, do so as soon as possible to prevent damage!
